Actress Hayden Panettiere's Brother Jansen Dead at 28

Jansen Panettiere died at his home in New York on Sunday, Feb. 19, new reports reveal.

Jansen Panettiere, the younger brother of actress Hayden Panettiere, has reportedly died. He was 28.

According to TMZ, sources close to the family confirmed on Monday that Jansen passed away on Sunday, Feb. 19, while at his home in New York. A cause of death has not yet been determined.

Law enforcement sources said they were called to the New York residence around 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, and that no foul play is suspected at this time.

Jansen, five years younger than his older sister, followed in Hayden's footsteps with a career in acting. He first broke into the industry in the early 2000s, appearing in Even Stevens, Jacob Two-Two, Blue's Clues, and many more projects.

He also had a recurring role on The X's from 2005 to 2006, in addition to more TV jobs, including Everybody Hates Chris, Major Crimes and The Walking Dead

His movie credits include Robots (2005), Ice Age: The Meltdown (2006), The Babysitters, The Secrets of Jonathan Sperry (2008), The Forger (2012) and Tiger Cruise (2004), the latter two of which also starred Hayden. In 2008, Jansen was nominated for a Young Artist Award for his role in The Last Day of Summer.

His most recent film credit was holiday rom-com Love and Love Not (2022). He is also credited with four additional upcoming projects, per the IMDb website.

As of writing, Hayden and other members of the family have yet to publicly comment on the tragic news. Our thoughts are with everyone who knew and loved the actor.
