Acne Studios Men’s Fall 2021
Creative director Jonny Johansson took a playful approach for his fall men’s collection for Acne Studios, which blended relaxed tailoring with workwear staples rendered in sophisticated fabrics.
Loose cut suits were printed with a repeat print of a fake Acne Studios logo he found online (take that, counterfeiters), while another featured a trompe-l’oeil pattern of a denim patchwork. Oversize dungarees came in pinstriped gray wool flannel, while a workwear jacket was cut from taffeta.

There was a strong psychedelic undercurrent to the collection, with tank tops printed with crochet doily motifs, and tie-dyed velvet pants. It made for an eclectic, unpredictable mix.
Johansson said the coronavirus pandemic had left him in the mood to experiment again. “It is men’s wear that is functional and minimal, with humor, sexiness and lightness,” he said in his collection notes.
