WHO WE ARE

MAKERS is a media and community-focused brand that exists to accelerate equity in the workplace. With live events, Emmy-nominated documentaries and award-winning digital content, MAKERS has been uniting change agents in every industry around the issues that matter most, one story at a time.

From the women you’ve heard of to those you haven’t but should, to the allies who are actively supporting the fight for equality, some current MAKERS include media mogul Oprah Winfrey; feminist and writer Gloria Steinem; writer and producer Shonda Rhimes; the first woman to run in the Boston Marathon Kathrine Switzer; singer and activist John Legend; activist Tarana Burke. Watch these and many more MAKERS videos here!

Now more than ever, we believe nothing is more essential than equity, diversity and inclusion. We are using our platforms to create access to important stories from diverse voices — incredible people who create change and inspire us to collective action.

THE MAKERS CONFERENCE

Every year, MAKERS gathers hundreds of leaders and executives for The MAKERS Conference, a three-day event that sets the agenda for advancing women in the workplace and in the world. Produced like a live documentary, the sessions explore a wide range of topics, from unconscious bias to policy change, sports to workplace harassment, education to entertainment and beyond. Discussions prioritize actively solving problems, rather than simply talking about them. Past participants include Bozoma Saint John, Gabrielle Union, America Ferrera, Kimberlé Crenshaw, Tokata Iron Eyes, Mj Rodriguez, and Jenny Yang.

Stay tuned for more information about the 2024 MAKERS Conference, happening February 27-29 at The Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles!
