MAKERS exists to accelerate the women’s movement through stories of real-life experiences that ignite passion and action.
Our belief is simple: an equal world for men and women, is a better world. Our mission is to build a 21st century network of changemakers and to provide them with the tools to blaze new trails and alter the very fabric of our society. Our MAKERS (women and men) are individuals who speak out and fight boldly for what is fair.
MAKERS features 4,000 videos and the stories of 400 women. Current MAKERS include filmmaker Ava DuVernay; U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg; civil rights activist Tarana Burke; war correspondent Christiane Amanpour; and so many more.
Each year, more than 500 people from private, public and not-for-profit sectors gather to set an agenda for helping women advance in the workplace. Produced like a live documentary, sessions explore a wide range of topics from unconscious bias to policy, sports to workplace harassment, education to entertainment and beyond. Discussions prioritize actively solving problems, rather than simply talking about them. Past participants include Jennifer Garner, Katherine Johnson, John Legend, Jada Pinkett-Smith and Gloria Steinem.
MAKERS@ is a partnership program that’s working to disrupt how companies think about female leadership. The initiative connects the MAKERS within all of our companies and provides them with the tools and inspiration to make bold impact on their organizations and society at large.
MAKERS@ is for the organization that believes its people are its strongest asset and that dares to lead and refuses to follow. Past MAKERS@ Partners include: A&E, Accenture, AT&T, Blackstone, Bloomberg, Facebook, GE, Goldman Sachs, Google, iHeartMedia, J&J, LinkedIn, L'Oreal, Morgan Stanley, Ogilvy, Publicis, Refinery 29, Time Warner, Twitter, Unilever, Univision and Visa.
