L: Abigail Breslin, R: Aaron Eckhart

A new lawsuit filed against Abigail Breslin alleges that the Definitely, Maybe actress accused Aaron Eckhart of treating her so poorly on set of their spy flick Classified that she was scared to be left alone around him.

Now, the production company is suing her for breach of contract due to the negative impact her alleged accusations have had on the distribution of the film, according to new court documents reviewed by Rolling Stone.

The accusations are said to have originated earlier this year, when Breslin reported to the production that Eckhart had, allegedly, behaved toward her in "aggressive, demeaning, and unprofessional" manners that she claimed "placed her at various times in peril."

The suit, filed Thursday, Nov. 2 in Los Angeles County Superior Court, added that Breslin also wrote a letter to the Screen Actors Guild, “setting forth her fears and blasting Mr. Eckhart’s behavior,” all of which ultimately caused "the entire production [to] almost [grind] to a halt."

Breslin reportedly refused to be alone in a number of scenes with her costar, requiring "costly accommodations" for production to move forward. In the filing, plaintiffs Dream Team Studios and WM Holdings claim that a "detailed" investigation turned up “no evidence in support of Breslin’s wild, hysterical and imaginary allegations against Eckhart,” leading to “delivery issues” with the finished product because of how “few scenes” see the two stars onscreen together.

According to the filing, the project has lost $80,000 so far as a result of her “specious” accusations. They also claim Breslin has “demanded the payment of $35,000 as a condition” of signing her final agreement, a contract required to allow the film to be released and to allow producers to claim tax credits in Malta.

As such, they're asking for $80,000 in real damages, plus punitive damages.

Parade has reached out to representatives for both Eckhart and Breslin for comment, but a rep for the Little Miss Sunshine star told Rolling Stone that she "is not aware of any action filed against her and has not been served with any legal notice,” adding that the actress "categorically denies all contended allegations and unequivocally stands by her statement which she provided confidentially to SAG.”
