Abby Lee Miller, Britney Spears

Abby Lee Miller started off 2024 with a blunt message directed at Britney Spears.

The Dance Moms alum didn't hold back while critiquing the Grammy winner's social media presence, specifically calling out her style and sporadic dance videos.

"I cringe and I yell at her and then the whole world hates me, and then the world of Britney comes after me like I'm psycho. How dare I," Miller told the DailyMail.com in an article published on Monday, Jan. 1.

The 58-year-old dance coach has always been straightforward and sometimes harsh with her criticism, as seen by her pyramid ranking and to-the-point assessments of child dance prodigies in the many episodes she starred in for Lifetime's reality dance series. Her recent statements regarding Spears are no different, though. Miller noted the pop star wasn't always so "cringe."

"I would say she performed like J-Lo. She was doing the knee slides and doing real athletic, real dancing," she continued, gushing over Spears' work from years ago, "Britney was adorable, great, confident and well taught."

She continued, "'Toxic.' I mean, any of those songs, even in her video [...'Baby One More Time'] the iconic schoolgirl outfit, coming down the hallway with the lockers. She was dancing and she could dance. She was great. She was just great."

As for why Miller thinks the 42-year-old's strong dancing skills have suddenly exited the stage, it's not because she's no longer capable but simply out of practice. "She was away from her dance teacher too long, that's number one. And number two is dance is a constantly evolving art form, so you have to continually stay with the trends."

Aside from her critiques of the "Circus" songstress' dancing, Miller also shared a few opinions on the 2000s icon's sense of style, which often features low-rise bottoms and mini dresses.

"I just want her to pull her pants up," she added. "The lower your pants are, the longer your body looks and the shorter your legs look."

"No torso. You want to be a head and neck and legs. So, she keeps pushing her pants down, making her body longer and her leg shorter. And I'm like, 'pull your pants up and make your legs look longer.'"

The reality TV star's comments come just weeks after she bashed another pop superstar, Taylor Swift, over her capabilities. Eventually, going on to compare the "Cruel Summer" singer's moves to that of her new beau, Travis Kelce, "Her boyfriend is a much better dancer!" she said at the time. "Let's leave it at that."
