The report cards are in, and we're all moving on up at Willard R. Abbott Public School! Miss Teagues and the entire gang are preparing their classrooms for another school year as Abbott Elementary has been given a whole new fourth season. And IDK about you, but this is the most excited I've been to get back to school!

The show quickly won the hearts of viewers with its charming sense of humor, up-to-date pop culture references, lovable characters, and heart. It's become a favorite among favorites, and if it keeps going the way it does, it could soon be regarded as a genre-defining classic like The Office. Honestly, how could it not with such stellar storytelling?

So, if you're a fan, do your friends a favor and spread the word! Keep your eyes on Abbott, and hopefully these amazing episodes will keep coming. Read on to find out more about the upcoming fourth season.

First things first: Is Abbott Elementary actually getting another season?

Yes, it's official! On February 10, 2024, just days after the premiere of season 3, Mr. Johnson himself (William Stanford Davis) announced the show's renewal during ABC’s presentation at the Television Critics Association’s winter 2024 press tour. And it's really no surprise. The show has won several awards over the past three years, including its most recent wins at the 2024 Golden Globes and the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards.

Who will be in the season 4 cast?

It's safe to say the regular cast will likely return for the next season. It's hard to imagine Abbott without the entire ensemble, so at this point, it is expected that the show's creator and lead actor Quinta Brunson will be reprising her role as Janine Teagues, Tyler James Williams as Gregory Eddie, Janelle James as Ava Coleman, Sheryl Lee Ralph as Barbara Howard, Lisa Ann Walter as Melissa Schemmenti, Chris Perfetti as Jacob Hill, and of course the aforementioned William Stanford Davis as Mr. Johnson.

There are also bound to be guest stars popping up here and there. Leslie Odom Jr. has previously reprised his role as Draemond Winding, and of course there's Zack Fox as the iconic Tariq. Taraji P. Henson, Ayo Edebiri, and even the Philadelphia Eagles' Jalen Hurts, Jason Kelce, and Brandon Graham have made great appearances on the show. So who knows who will show up at Abbott next?

What will Abbott Elementary season 4 be about?

Some things have definitely changed since the beginning of season 3, with Janine doing a stint at the district office (which I honestly did not see coming at all. Did you??). But it's too early to tell if this will have impact on season 4, since the third season is still airing. Will Greg and Janine finally get together? Will Ava still be principal? Are charter schools going to take over?? It's anybody's guess at this point.

But if the show carries the same tone it's had for the past three seasons, then the episodes to come are bound to bring witty humor, comforting insights, and all-around good vibes. (Though we'll have to wait and see about the specifics!)

When will season 4 premiere?

There is no official release date yet for the premiere of Abbott Elementary's fourth season, and with season 3 in progress, season 4 is not likely until later in 2024 or in 2025. So be sure to stay tuned for more updates and announcements here!
