A Normal Guy Attempted The Rock’s Daily Diet

Sure, we like fish as much as the next person (especially when it comes in taco form). But nobody, and we mean nobody, seems to like it as much as Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who we recently learned eats close to three pounds of cod every day. If that amount of food alone already has you gulping in amazement, don’t forget about the other meats and veggies that add up to make The Rock’s diet weigh in at 10 pounds a day. Yes, you read that right: 10 pounds per day.

Writer Sean Evans will likely never, ever forget this fact, because he was the brave soul that Complex tapped to take on The Rock’s meal plan.

Wondering how that worked out for him? Well, Evans, who called himself “no world class athlete” and admitted to a normal regime of “mostly Chipotle and bong smoke,” heroically tried to make his way through all seven of The Rock’s daily meals, despite the fact that “everything [The Rock] eats tastes like butt.” (With no spices listed on the menu, we think he was probably being too kind there.)

Despite desperately working out between meals to “clear up some space in [his] stomach,” Evans didn’t quite make it through the day, throwing up in the office bathroom between meals four and five and skipping meal six entirely. But, as Evans—who acknowledged that he “walked away with a newfound respect for Johnson”—rightly points out, “I still wear size 30 jeans like I’m a sophomore in high school. Dwayne Johnson, on the other hand, weighs close to 300 pounds and has a body that burns fuel like a furnace.”

See for yourself.
