'90 Day: The Last Resort' Exclusive: Big Ed Worries Relationship With Liz Is 'Slipping Away'

"Big Ed" Brown is learning he can't go the "funny" route during serious conversations about his relationship.

In an exclusive sneak peek from the upcoming episode of 90 Day: The Last Resort, Brown learns how to communicate better with fiancée Liz Woods.

After continuously hitting rough patches on the show, Woods realized that one of her biggest issues with Brown is his inability to take their relationship seriously.

Following a class that was meant to help the couples with their issues, Woods points out to Brown that she was rolling her eyes throughout it whenever he would make a joke because he can't "be serious in the moment."

Brown defends himself, saying that he's just "looking for that laugh." But Woods notes that his jokester attitude has become detrimental in their relationship. "Sometimes I need you to be serious," she says.

He vows to do better, accepting his mistake. "I need to calm down my comedy, because the minute things get serious and I get nervous, I go funny, and I'm sorry for making jokes instead of paying attention," he says.

Brown adds, "I just don't want you to think I'm taking this lightly, [because] I'm not. I'm serious about us. I want it to work. I just feel us slipping away and I say this very carefully [but] I just don't like to take life so seriously, because something could happen to you, something could happen to me."

However, Woods retaliates by asking how he would feel if something were to happen to her tomorrow and he realized that, despite knowing what she needed from him, he failed to give it to her.

Will Big Ed learn to change his ways? Find out on Monday, Sept. 4 at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT on TLC.
