'I Hate Most Running Sunglasses But These Are Actually SUPER Comfortable'

Nothing ruins the adrenaline rush of a long run like having to consistently readjust your eyewear. It's hard to find a pair that doesn't slip off the second I start sweating, feel uncomfortably heavy on my face, or look completely hideous.

But the prospect of problems that come from exposing my eyes and undereye skin to harmful UVA and UVB rays doesn't really appeal to me, either. Hence began my hunt for a high-quality, stylish pair of running sunglasses, which is why I consulted Ryan Parker, MD, optometrist, runner and rep for Essilor.

"The success of a good pair of activewear glasses is going to begin and end with the frame shape and how well they stay on your face," says Parker. He adds that it helps for them to be lightweight and have grippy nose pads. He recommends finding a pair of sunglasses that are polarized, too, because it helps minimize the penetration of UV rays while also making sure you can still see clearly. The last thing you want when you're working out in the park is to be constantly fidgeting with your eyewear.
