Heritage Home Health & Hospice partnered with Autumn Wind to grant a wish to one resident living in the facility.

Leland Smith, an 88 year-old resident, said it was his wish to spend a night at the rodeo since he had never attended one before.

“Very pretty, I’m anxious to see the rodeo night,” Smith said.

Smith was chosen and his dream was granted Friday night at the Winnsboro Rodeo.

In true rodeo fashion, Smith dressed the part with sunglasses and a new cowboy hat, picked out by this year’s rodeo queens.

“I sure had a lot of compliments on it today,” Smith said.

His dream came true to attend and it’s one more experience crossed off his bucket list.

“Being in senior living for as long as I have, this is the highlight of what I do. When you’re able to see the happiness in their eyes,” Miachel Herrera, with the Heritage Home Health & Hospice Winnsboro location, said.

Smith was excited to see all the rodeo events happen right before his eyes.

“I think it’s wonderful,” Smith said.
