'80s Pop Star Tiffany Gives Update After Scary Car Accident

Tiffany, the singer who rose to fame in the 1980s, was recently in a car accident in Nashville, Tennessee.

Elizabeth Neff, Tiffany's publicist, confirmed the news in a statement to ET, saying, "On May 25, Tiffany was driving on [Interstate] 65 when a tire from a truck came rolling across the highway, hit her car, and got stuck under the driver's side."

"The transmission is torn apart. There is front damage and the side paneling of the car was ripped completely off," she concluded.

Tiffany stated that she is "extremely lucky and thankful because a major accident could have happened."

After the news came out, Tiffany went to Instagram, sharing a photo of a sky with clouds in the shape of a heart and writing, "Thanking the angels above …and thank you to all who’ve reached out after my car accident ..I’m feeling fine , no complications."

She continued, "Hoping they can fix my car ..be safe out there guys , and thank you again for the concern & love 😘."

Many of her fans took to the comments to share how glad they are that she's okay and wish her a smooth recovery.

TMZ initially reported on the accident, sharing a few photos of the state of Tiffany's car, with the side paneling, front headlight, and more affected by the truck tire.

Tiffany gained popularity as a singer in the '80s, becoming a teen icon after her cover of the Tommy James and the Shondells song "I Think We're Alone Now" was released and became a No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

The singer-songwriter has continued releasing new music and performing ever since.
