If you're looking to give off that I-just-came-back-from-my-fabulous-beach-vacation vibe without jet-setting somewhere tropical, there's a makeup trick for that. Making the rounds all over our socials, the latte makeup trend is the secret to achieving the ultimate beachy bronze glow.

Coined by content creator Rachel Rigler, this viral makeup phenomenon has everyone — including our favorite celebs — reaching for their go-to bronzers and highlighters to craft their version of the look. So what are the key elements of latte makeup?

"It's a monochromatic bronze look featuring a variation of light and dimension that complements your natural features," explains Laura Janes, VP of Artistry Training at Hourglass. "It's perfect for the summertime because it's a flexible look and takes you from day to night."

"[It] uses "latte" tones such as warm terracottas, sunkissed bronze, and gold hues," adds Nudestix Global Makeup Artist & Digital Educator Kevin Kodra. "This trend was inspired by Australian Makeup artist Tanielle Jai, who is known for her soft, monochromatic bronze and sun-kissed makeup looks."

The best part is you don't need a glam squad to try this look. Both pros agree that latte makeup is very simple to DIY. To start, Janes says you'll want a glowy and hydrated base and highlight on the high points of your face. To get that warmth, choose a bronzer to contour. Then finish off with a bronze eye and nude lip, customizing it along the way how you see fit.

Kodra emphasizes that there is no one way to do this monochromatic bronze look, and you can pretty much use whatever latte hues you want. "The latte tone is a warm terracotta, but there are many different iterations depending on your skin tone," he says. "There's the 'cool' latte makeup, which features cooler undertones, or the espresso "latte" trend, which features deeper brown tones in a monochromatic way."

For inspiration, look no further than the celebs who are wearing latte makeup. Scroll through to see their interpretations of the trend, along with a few expert-approved tips and tricks.

As mentioned above, Janes says the first step to the latte makeup look is a glowy and hydrated base. She recommends using a skin tint to achieve that dewy finish. Take a cue from Hailey Bieber and reach for Hourglass' newest Veil Hydrating Skin Tint, which will supply natural-looking coverage with radiant shine.

Fka Twigs

Next, you'll want to focus on bronzer. For a healthy glow, Kodra recommends sweeping bronzer along the contours and high points of your face where the sun would typically hit. Like FKA Twigs here, pay special attention to the cheekbones.

The pro suggests Nudestix's Nudies Bronze All Over Face Colors for a creamy application that blends in super well. To further the monochrome feel, wash the bronzer over the lids to give them a bronze base.

Lori Harvey

Kodra says one of the major upsides to latte makeup is that it's super wearable regardless of skin tone; you need to know what shades work best. "You want to stay within the terracotta, browns, and golds [and] adjust the depth based on your skin tone," he says. "You'd want to use terracottas on a light to medium skin tone and deep browns and rustic golds for a deep to dark skin tone."

Here, Lori Harvey uses warm bronzed pigment to define and sculpt her cheeks and adds some sparkle on the lids to give the eyes more shine.

Lizzo

For latte-inspired makeup looks, Kodra tends to lean toward matte-textured eyeshadows. If you're looking to add depth and warmth, he recommends going a few shades deeper than your skin tone and applying it over the lid and lower lash line. Once blended, apply mascara as the finishing touch. Or you can make like Lizzo and add a winged cat eye for some fun.

Jodie Turner Smith

A glossy lip can really make your bronzed makeup pop, says Janes. For proof, look no further than Jodie Turner-Smith.

Shay Mitchell

If you plan to swipe on a glossy lip, don't forget to use a brown or neutral lip liner. Kodra likes to overline the lips to make them appear plumper and recommends choosing a shade in a similar tone as your bronzer like Shay Mitchell does here.

For a soft and romantic latte makeup look, make like Queen Bey and opt for matte tans blended throughout for a soft-focus glow.
