Just because celebrities are rich and famous doesn't mean that their crushes are automatically returned. They have to deal with their fair share of rejection, too. What makes it worse is that when they're turned down, it's often made public.

From Grammy-winning pop stars like Justin Bieber to major movie stars like Emma Watson, here are all the celebs who've gotten swerved in front of the entire world.

1. Justin Bieber by Selena Gomez

Way back in ancient times when Justin was still a rising star, he got the chance to sing "One Less Lonely Girl" to Selena during Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest in 2009. It was all just for show, but the future Grammy winner's crush on the Disney Channel star was definitely noticeable as he flirted with her during the performance.

The rumors the two stars were dating followed soon after, but Selena shut them down on Ellen in 2010, totally rejecting him in the worst way possible - comparing the Biebs to a little brother! "He's little! He's like my little brother," she said about the Biebs.

Selena obviously changed her mind about that whole "little brother" thing soon after seeing as they started dating officially in February 2011.

One fateful day in February 2011, the then 16-year-old singer was seated next to 23-year-old Rihanna at the NBA All-Star game. Rihanna may have been seven years his senior, but that didn't stop the Biebs from asking RiRi for her number.

Justin decided to take control of his own narrative when it came to this rejection though, hilariously posting a photo of him showing Rihanna his phone and captioned it, "'Can I have your number please' -Justin 'Nah' -Rihanna". The photo's since been deleted along with the rest of Justin's account. RIP Justin's Instagram.

3. Justin Bieber by Jennifer Lawrence

Justin just can't catch a break! While playing "Too Bae or Not to Bae" with Capital FM in November 2015, the pop star was asked whether or not he'd bae Jennifer and he said yes - rather enthusiastically. "Oh yeah. Bae for sure. 100 percent," he responded, adding that she was "sexy" and "so cute".

But when a fan filled JLaw in on Justin's little crush on Watch What Happens Live, the Hunger Games actress couldn't have been less interested. "I'm going to say a hard no," she said when asked if she'd ever "tap that". That being Justin Bieber.

4. Selena Gomez by George Shelley

After the Union J singer made his "undying crush" on the Disney star known, Selena recorded the most adorable video in June 2013 telling him to give her a call the next time she was in London.

Thing is, George never called. And Sel was not happy about it. The next time she was in London later that year to promote her new album, she ended up calling him out in an interview with Capital FM. "Since I'm here, I'm actually very offended that George didn't call me from Union J," she said, only half jokingly.

Come on George. Why'd you leave Sel hanging?!

5. Emma Watson by Tom Felton

Considering how much time Emma spent on the set of Harry Potter during her formative years, can you blame her for developing an innocent crush on her bad boy co-star, Tom?

"Between the ages of ten and twelve I had a really terrible crush on Tom Felton, to the extent that I would go into work in the morning and look down the numbers on the call sheet to see if he was going to be in," the actress toldJonathan Ross in an interview of her pre-teen crush. "He was a few years older and he had a skateboard - and that just did it really."

Apparently, Tom "totally" knew about her crush and totally dissed her. "The thing is that he'd tell everyone, 'I see her in a younger, sisterly way,'" Emma dished. "It just broke my heart. It still does."

Hilary was totally feeling Aaron back when they dated in 2000 and she was 13, but a lot changes in 15 years. When Aaron began professing his love for Hilary on Twitter in 2014, the Lizzie McGuire icon was forced to turn him down on live television.

"I don't know what to say about it," she told Watch What Happens Live host Andy Cohen about Aaron's tweets. "It was so many years ago. I literally haven't seen him in...so, it's uncomfortable." Ouch. Sorry Aaron.

James and the Game of Thrones actress had ~something going~ on between them for a hot second before things simmered out in 2014. So when The Vamps guitarist got bitter and called Sophie "uninteresting" on Twitter, she shot back with the most savage tweet.

"Harsh words," she wrote. "Ps. Please stop texting me... It's getting creepy and I'm sorry I'm not interested ✋."

8. Drake by Rihanna

After delivering one of the gushiest speeches in VMAs history and literally professing his love for Rihanna while presenting the songstress with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, Drake tried to kiss RiRi on the cheek. Then she totally swerved him.

The entire world witnessed Rihanna dodging his kiss and began ridiculing Drake on social media. But the rapper got the last laugh because a source close to Rihanna confirmed the pair were dating less than a week later.

Back in 2017, Katy said on Nova FM radio show Fitzy & Wippa, Niall is "always trying to like, get my number, to like, maybe flirt with me but I'm like, 'I could babysit you. I'm like your mom!'"

Niall responded to the rejection by saying on The Project, "I just want to be your friend," adding, "I mean, she is talking like she is about 55 years older than me. She is not that much older than me."

In 2010, Drake shared a ~heartbreaking~ story with MTV: "I remember one of the first nights that we were out in Miami and I went to Jerry's [Famous Deli]. I was like [to Minaj], ‘You want food, you hungry?,' and she was like, 'Yeah, I want some food.' I was like, 'I’m in, we gon' eat food together.' I came to her door and she took the food and shut the door in my face! I was just like, 'Man, this is gonna be a long road for us.' I've always really, actually, really had a crush on her, always really loved her, and she's always just looked at me as, like, her little brother."

The dancer-turned-actress was part of the Harry Potter franchise when she was 11 years old, working as an extra in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. On LIVE! With Kelly in 2012, she revealed, "I was kind of in love, especially with Daniel Radcliffe. I wrote him a love note," adding, "it was Valentine's Day and I got him the Valentino Beanie Baby. I never heard back."

She still sees Daniel from time to time, and "just turn[s] and walk[s] away" because she's "really embarrassed" about her old crush.
