  • Dolly Parton opened up about her experience with cosmetic procedures.

  • The 77-year-old said she has dabbled in Botox and fillers.

  • “If something is bagging, sagging, or dragging, I’ll tuck it, suck it, or pluck it,” she quipped.

While some stars choose to remain tight-lipped about cosmetic procedures they’ve undergone to stay Hollywood-ready, Dolly Parton is, as always, upfront and honest about the work that goes into maintaining her iconic appearance. The “Jolene” singer, 77, candidly opened up about her experience with Botox, fillers, and more in an interview.

“If something is bagging, sagging, or dragging, I’ll tuck it, suck it, or pluck it,” she quipped to the United Kingdom’s Saga Magazine. In another recent interview on The Howard Stern Show, she told the eponymous host that she specifically dabbles in fillers, Botox, and Juvéderm, but treads lightly.

“I try to do just little bits at a time—I don’t do like really big stuff,” she explained. “Only when I have to do something a little more, and even then, I try to be careful.”

She added that getting any kind of work done always makes her a little nervous, but she has “the best doctors” for the procedures. “You’ve just got to be very careful not to overdo it because you never know, anytime you go under the knife you could come out looking not good,” she told Stern. “It’s always a risk and every time I go in for anything I think ‘Oh Lord, please let this all work out fine.’”

Parton has, however, experienced mild complications with some injections, she told Saga. “Every now and then you’ll get a hematoma,” she said, which is a type of bruise that results from a large collection of blood outside of blood vessels and is typically raised, sensitive to touch, per Cleveland Clinic. “Or sometimes with fillers and Botox you can get too much and have to wait till the swelling goes down to look normal again,” Parton continued. “It means that instead of being back at work in two weeks, it’s a month.”

As for maintaining herself from the neck down, Parton said she’s “not much for exercise,” but she does “enough to get by.” And although the Southern food fiend within her will always love meals buttered, smothered, and fried, she has made a concerted effort to achieve balance ever since her friend Sylvester Stallone advised it. “He’d tell me, ‘You’ve got to stop eating white bread and processed stuff’ and I’d say, ‘But I’m a country girl!’” Parton recalled. “I still eat those things, just not as often as I used to.”

If you’ve listened to her new rock album or happened to catch her recent Dallas Cowboys game halftime performance, it’s clear that Parton is thriving, and that’s all that matters!
