While some of us can’t wait to head to grandma’s house for the holidays, others are excited to use this time off for family fun away from home at happening hotels that celebrate the season in style. And one can only assume that during the magic of the holidays, its charm is amplified. A Mansion Party Tea is offered from November 20 through December 25, featuring holiday displays, roaming carolers, and even Santa himself. Chef Susana’s culinary treats are suitable for all ages and a great way to get the family together. Fifteen percent of the Mansion Tea Party sales will go to children’s nonprofit Baby2Baby in the spirit of giving.

It’s a fun month of celebrating the seasons at this fun hotel duo’s doorstep. The programming doesn’t stop from November 16 through January 1 with everything from a Tunes for Tots event to a Vintage Holiday Market. Want a Christmas Eve activity that you’ll never forget? Hit up the Noche Buena Pig Roast at The Grey Market. The "12 Days of Thompson” events culminate with a New Year’s Eve rager that includes cowboylesque dancers, a mechanical bull, and even a midnight toast sponsored by Chandon. 4. La Cantera Resort and Spa (San Antonio, Texas)

San Antonio is calling all cool moms and dads who are in the mood to make memories with their kids in a gorgeous Hill Country setting. The programming this year centers around the Grinch, and it sounds like old fashioned fun. Think: meet and greets with the Grinch, Cindy Lou Who and Santa himself. There will even be an opportunity to brunch with the big man himself at the “How the Grinch Stole Brunch” event on December 2. The menu includes fun riffs on the classic tail including diffendoofers, scrambled super-dee doope-dee-booper special de Luxe Omelets, and roast beast. Tickets are $48 for adults and $25 for kids between the ages of 6 to 12. Five dollars from each ticket is donated to the Children’s Bereavement Center of South Texas.
