7 Standout Trends From the Milan Spring 2020 Runways
Featuring colorful leather, short suits, sparkle and so much more.
Jennifer Lopez may have won Milan Fashion Week Spring 2020, but the clothes came in a close second. Before the "Hustlers" star closed Versace, Miuccia Prada presented a fabulously sophisticated warm-weather range; Silvia Venturini Fendi made her women's ready-to-wear debut with a collection made up of vintage florals; and for his second runway outing at Bottega Veneta, Daniel Lee expanded on the pieces that worked for Fall 2019.
Post-iconic J. Lo appearance, Missoni highlighted the Global Climate Strike; Dolce & Gabbana brought us into the jungle; and Gucci got rid of its hodgepodge layering in favor of a more refined and polished aesthetic.

Bohemian wanderlust and Jane Birkin were references on designer mood boards for Spring 2020. Etro wrote a sartorial love letter to '70s It girls with a range of haute hippie staples (think: ruffly, floaty dresses in mini and maxi lengths). Alternatively, Alberta Ferretti modernized this free-spirited decade by pairing a suede mini with an of-this-moment striped button-down.

Italians are known for being good at vacation. They're not big advance planners, or early risers, and their schedules are often hammered out on a day-to-day basis. Fendi, along with a slew of other brands, captured this anxiety-free state of holiday bliss that Italians know exactly how to cultivate through easy-to-throw on cover-ups and day-to-night frocks.

A tailored twist to the beloved pantsuit emerged in Milan: the shorts suit. Max Mara offered up gray suiting with military utilitarian inflections, while Dolce & Gabbana showed an office-appropriate hot pink suit; both topped off the looks with ties to create true #BossLady ensembles.
