Is Bai actually coconut water?

Bai Antioxidant Infusions are actually called "coconut-flavored water beverages," not coconut water, which means, most of the flavors include filtered water and coconut water concentrate. (Although other flavors sans coconut relies on other juice concentrates like cherry and watermelon.) All in all, the amount of juice in a Bai drink varies from 1% to 4% total juice, depending on the flavor.

What is the benefit of Bai?

A Bai drink only has 10 calories and 1 gram of sugar per bottle, so people love that these drinks are a low-calorie, low-sugar alternative compared to some other beverages (like root beer or even most energy drinks).

Other benefits of Bai drinks are that they contain vitamin E (DL-alpha tocopheryl acetate), and antioxidants (for fighting free radicals that cause harm to cells), plus they're a good source of electrolytes.

According to Bai's website, Bai beverages also contain "an excellent source of antioxidant vitamin C," which is critical to "the growth and repair of tissues in all parts of your body." Most of these drinks also contain white tea extract, which has polyphenols—another powerhouse antioxidant that can help reduce stress and inflammation.

Bai drinks are also kosher, have a low-glycemic impact and are gluten-free.

Since it's not actually fully coconut water, you won't be getting the same potassium-fueled electrolyte benefits there, but all in all, it's not an unhealthy choice as far as packaged beverages go.

Does Bai have a lot of caffeine?

An 18-fluid-ounce bottle of Bai Antioxidant Infusions has a total of 55 milligrams of caffeine. This is naturally occurring caffeine that comes from tea extract. A Bai contains a similar caffeine content that you would see in one cup of green tea.

On the other hand, the Bai Boost line (which is more like an energy drink) contains 110 milligrams of caffeine.

How many Bai waters can you drink a day?

If you're wondering how many Bai drinks are safe to drink per day, Bai's FAQ page states, "We recommend not exceeding two 530 mL bottles of Bai Antioxidant Infusion per day."

The page continues, "For Molokai Coconut, we recommend not exceeding five 530mL bottles of Bai per day."

How do you pronounce 'Bai?'

It seems like everyone that drinks Bai pronounces the brand name differently. So, what's the truth? According to Bai reps, it's pronounced like "bye," as in, "bye, bye, bye," as in Justin Timberlake, who—ironically—invested in Bai back in 2016 and became the brand's "Chief Flavor Officer."

Talk about a pneumonic device!

7. Brasilia Blueberry

There's a whole lot of blueberry in Bai Brasilia Blueberry. If you're not careful with that first sip, you'll be hit right away with a burst of strong, fruity berry. It's a little bit floral at the end, but that initial sip packs quite a punch, so if it's a flavor-packed drink you're searching for, look no further.

5. Puna Coconut Pineapple

This flavor is the next best thing to a beachside cocktail. After all, it tastes like a virgin rum punch! The other coco-nutty flavors in the line are slightly better though, so while this one has the tangy pineapple taste on its side, the floral undertones might be a little too strong for some people. But if you're a hardcore pineapple enthusiast, you may not notice that floral undertone at all. Or better yet, you might actually love it!

4. Zambia Bing Cherry

The Zambia Big Cherry Bai really surprised us. It's a really well-done take on cherry juice and we love that it's straight cherry rather than mixed with another fruit flavor. It's akin to a Capri-Sun in flavor, which is definitely unexpected given its 1 sole gram of sugar. It's bright, it's fruity—what more could you want?

3. Madagascar Coconut Mango

If full-on coconut isn't your thing, Madagascar Coconut Mango is a tasty option that has that initial bite of coconut, but a mango aftertaste that smoothes it out. Also, there's something about a mango-and-coconut combo that makes us want to sit on a beach, under an umbrella, drinking this with a straw out of an actual coconut. Anyone else?

2. Pilavo Pineapple Mango

Bai's newest flavor is Pilavo Pineapple Mango and it does not disappoint. While it couldn't be more of a contrast to our #1 flavor, this Bai does not contain any coconut flavoring whatsoever—only clarified pineapple juice concentrate.

But even without that signature coconut clout, we love it. With bright, fruity notes and a burst of mango at the end, this drink will transport you to a tropical island in just a sip. In fact, it could even pass as a piña colada—sans the rum.
