60-Second Video of Maine Coon's Transformation From Kitten to Cat Is Wild

Watching your kitten grow up can be so bittersweet. It's so much fun to watch them reach milestones and discover new things, but it's also normal to miss the kitten days. Even though it's a lot of work to care for a baby, there's an extra bit of sweetness and innocence when a kitten is around. Because time flies, though, that kitten won't be around for long. They'll be an adult cat before you know it!

Just ask Maine Coon kitten owner Chas. She's no stranger to the animal kingdom, with several pets at home, but even she's impressed with how big her young cat has grown. Kusa is about a year old now, and he's become massive since coming home around 3 months old. No wonder this video has surpassed over 100 million views!

OMFG--that's one massive cat! It's no secret that the Maine Coon is the gentle giant of cat breeds, but seeing a cat like Kufa, who's bigger than average, really helps it sink in. Especially when he's side by side with his feline sibling Gouda, it's easy to see just how massive he is.

"He was a kitten for approximately 1 business day," joked commenter @oofheckinsus. No kidding! When he was 3 months old, he was already larger than Gouda. Luckily, his smaller cat sibling (who's actually the older one) doesn't think twice about the growing kitten's size. They even find places to lounge together where they both can fit!

Maine Coons Can Grow to Massive Sizes

According to Purina, these huge cats can be 40 inches long at maturity and well over 20 pounds. The Guinness World Record holder for 'longest domestic cat ever' was a Maine Coon named Mymains Stewart Gilligan (aka Stewie) who measured 48.5 inches long. That's just over 4 feet!

Even though Maine Coon cats are so large, not every individual from this breed will grow to impressive lengths. Usually, female cats will have a slightly smaller build, and some Maine Coons will have thicker fur coats than others. While their winter-ready fur doesn't add any length, it sure can make them look rather majestic. It's great for keeping them warm in the winter (this cat breed does hail from Maine, after all), but it also gives this breed the fluffy look everyone knows and loves.

There's so much more to love about Maine Coon cats besides their huge size and thick fur coats, but Kufa's startling length sure caught the attention of cat owners on TikTok. As gorgeous as he is, those interested in Maine Coons need to do lots of research before adopting one for themselves.
