For Jennifer Lopez and her kids, it seems like education about Latinx pride, political action, and racial justice goes both ways. From skin slugging to soap brows, TikTok has become a gold mine for all kinds of out-there beauty trends and hacks that we're not ashamed to admit we've tried once or twice. Now, another buzzword hitting the platform in the last few months is "skin icing," which, jarring as it might sound, is believed to improve your skin's health and appearance. For anyone unfamiliar with the term, skin icing is the act of putting literal ice on your face. It's a form of cold therapy that's been around for ages and involves treating the skin with ice, ice rollers, ice water, or any cryotherapy tool that can lower the temperature of the skin. The point, as noted to us by celebrity facialist Candace Marino, is to "reduce inflammation, redness, and puffiness, while also stimulating circulation and helping to sculpt the face." These, of course, aren't the only reasons we've been seeing the trend everywhere lately. Read ahead to learn more about the benefits of skin icing and how you can safely do it at home.

Insider's Caroline Aghajanian is using her time at home to finally clean her makeup brushes. She typically cleans her brushes with her face wash and a makeup-brush-cleaning mat, but she will test out three other popular methods for alternative options. The first method is mixing extra-virgin olive oil with dish soap, like Dawn or Palmolive. The extra-virgin olive oil can help break down makeup and can also moisturize the bristles so the brushes don't dry out. The second method is with hot water, white vinegar, and dish soap mixed together into a cup. The white vinegar will help disinfect the makeup brushes. The third method is washing brushes with castile soap, like Dr. Bronner's castile soap, and disinfecting with apple cider vinegar afterwards. All of these methods will leave makeup brushes clean and ready for application.
It's important to disinfect a thermometer before and after every use to reduce the risk of spreading illness. Here's how to do it.
Jennifer Lopez covers Elle's February 2021 issue in the most glamorous set of outfits, from cutout bodysuits to gowns by the likes of Dior and Christopher John Rogers - the latter being a white, full-skirted number with a plunging neckline that easily evokes images of a wedding gown. Speaking of which, Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez have postponed their wedding twice: "We had planned what we really, really wanted to do, [but] I don't know if we'll be able to re-create that. We canceled it, and since then we haven't really talked about it. There's no rush. We want to do it right when we can do it," J Lo said in her interview. So, something tells us she's still open to the the idea of finding a bridal look and hasn't locked one in just yet. Lopez glows throughout the photo series, photographed by Micaiah Carter, and that might have something to do with the multitasking mask and serum from her new JLo Beauty line. The singer goes on to open up about wearing her Puerto Rican heritage with pride at last year's Super Bowl, divulging details about how her Versace outfit came to life: "I [told] Donatella Versace, 'I want to be an American flag because I'm going to be singing "Born in the U.S.A." with my daughter, but when I open it up, I want them to know that my heart and soul is Puerto Rican.'" While that was quite the momentous fashion moment to reminisce about, we invite you to enjoy a few more as you scroll down to get the full breakdown of the fashion designers J Lo wore for Elle.
