6 Major Questions Ahead of the 'Game of Thrones' Series Finale

From Men's Health

Warning: The following post contains spoilers for Game of Thrones season 8. If you don't want to know what happens, stop reading!

Much like many of its characters, HBO's hit series Game of Thrones is about to meet its end. After eight seasons, the epic fantasy series will air its finale on May 19, 2019.

There may only be one episode remaining, but we still have a lot of questions. The second-to-last episode-"The Bells"-ended with Daenerys reducing King's Landing to ash, Cersei and Jaime Lannister being crushed to death by a collapsing ceiling, and Arya riding purposefully on a white horse to...do what, exactly? We have some thoughts.

So how will Game of Throne send after eight glorious years? What will happen on the series finale? Here are 6 questions we have about next Sunday's final Game of Thrones episode:

Will Arya kill Daenerys?

All the signs are there. Arya's a trained assassin. She doesn't trust Dany as a queen. She's destined to kill someone with green eyes, and now we know it ain't gonna be Cersei. So yeah, it sure seems like the youngest Stark girl is going to bring down the Mother of Dragons.

One more clue: Sunday night's episode ended with Arya riding off on a white horse-a possible link to the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.

Will Bronn and Tyrion face off?

Earlier in the season 8, the mercenary Bronn was charged with killing his old pal Tyrion. He's been wandering around Westeros with a crossbow ever since, waiting for the right opportunity. It's gotta be in the finale, right?

Even though Tyrion killed his father with a crossbow-and it might be strangely symbolic-we can't see Tyrion going down this way. Then again, the final Game of Thrones season is all about giving complex characters meaningless deaths, so guess we can't rule this one out.

Will Jon Snow sit on the Iron Throne?

We're pretty sure Dany won't end up on the Iron Throne, but what about Jon Snow-the dude who's actually first in line to rule? (In case you need a refresher, here's what to know about Jon Snow's true Targaryen lineage.) Lord Varys (RIP) wanted him to rule the Seven Kingdoms, but will he?

We don't know, but we hope not! For a show that's consistently challenged the tradition of male monarchy, it would be pretty disappointing for Jon, the heir of the ruler who died before the show began, to take the Iron Throne.

Also, Jon blatantly doesn't want to rule. He's made it abundantly clear. Dude, clear off and go find Ghost.

So... Will Sansa sit on the Iron Throne?

If it isn't Dany or Jon, Sansa seems like a good candidate-and fans agree. The oldest Stark girl has experienced tremendous personal growth over the course of eight seasons, going from naive wannabe-princess to brilliant, calculating strategist. She's been running the show at Winterfell for a while now, so who's to say she couldn't command the whole of the Seven Kingdoms?

What's more, season 8 has consistently reminded us of Sansa's alliance with Tyrion. Maybe it's because he'll eventually support her in her bid to rule? We could see it.

Will Jaqen H'ghar come back?

Remember Jaqen H'ghar, the Faceless Man who trained Arya to become an assassin? Fans have been wondering if he'll make an appearance in the final season...and we have to say, this theory would be pretty cool, if true:

At the very least, can we please see Arya use her Faceless Man skills one last time? She's barely used them at all! We didn't spend hours watching those scenes in Braavos to only see her training pay off in the death of Walder freakin' Frey (although he damn well deserved it).

Will we ever get answers to our questions about the Night King?

Probably not. Sorry.
