6 Films To Watch on Max in March 2024

As the new month kicks in, Max revealed what's new on the platform for March 2024, and there is quite a large selection to pick from.

So, to cut the work for you, here are a few recommendations from the 50+ films set to land on the streaming service over the coming weeks.

Me and Earl and The Dying Girl (March 1st)

This charming indie film is an adaptation of the Jesse Andrews novel of the same name following Greg - who spends most of his time making parodies of classic movies with his "co-worker" Earl - who finds his outlook forever altered after befriending a classmate who has just been diagnosed with cancer.

Thomas Mann, RJ Cyler and Olivia Cooke star in this unique gem, which doesn't get the flowers it deserves.

Oceans Eight (March 1st)

This ensemble piece from director Gary Ross follows Debbie Ocean, who gathers an all-female crew to attempt an impossible heist at New York City's annual Met Gala.

The cast is stacked full of talent with names including Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Mindy Kaling, Awkwafina, Sarah Paulson, Dakota Fanning and even Rihanna.

Horrible Bosses (March 1st)

Throwback comedy Horrible Bosses follows three friends who conspire to murder their awful bosses.

Jason Bateman, Charlie Day and Jason Sudeikis lead the film, with their bosses played by Kevin Spacey, Colin Farrell and Jennifer Aniston.

The Farewell (March 1st)

A24 and Max signed an exclusive streaming deal last year, which means, slowly, A24 are starting to release their films on the platform.

One of the studio's movies hitting the streaming service this month is Lulu Wang's sophomore feature, The Farewell, starring Awkwafina, which follows a Chinese family that discovers their grandmother has only a short while left to live and decides to keep her in the dark, scheduling a wedding to gather before she dies.

A Star is Born (March 8th)

Bradley Cooper's directorial debut is hitting Max this month, which means you can relive this stunning remake of the classic tale about a musician who helps a young singer find fame as age and alcoholism send his own career into a downward spiral.

Cooper also stars in the film, playing opposite Lady Gaga, who won the film an Oscar for her original song "Shallow".

Wonka (March 8th)

A recent box office hit is landing this month in Paul King's Wonka starring Timothée Chalamet, which serves as an origin story for the legendary literary chocolatier.

The film follows a young and ambitious Willy Wonka who dreams of opening a shop in a city renowned for its chocolate. However, he soon discovers that the industry is run by a cartel of greedy chocolatiers, which sends Wonka's dream into a tailspin.
