Compost bins aren't always the prettiest garden accessory, but that's hardly a reason to not start composting. 2. Wood Slats
This very simple compost bin design boasts clean lines and works in a traditional or modern garden setting. You can use slats of cedar to build your own or if your less crafty, you can find similar bins at home stores. This bin from Walmart is easy to fill, and the cedar planks last a long time.

This award-winning idea from Rachael Mathews is pure genius. She incorporated compost bins into trenches that double as a walkway through the garden beds. This is not only a space-saving idea, but it looks absolutely beautiful! For those of you with raised beds, this is a very good option.

When we think of plastic compost bins, our mind automatically goes to the clunky black or blue bins that visually stick out from a mile away. But plastic can look nice as well. We really like the shape of this one from Gardener's Supply Company—the brown would blend well with a building or in your yard.
