6 Celebrity-Favorite Fitness Studios in Los Angeles

Among the multitude of fitness studios across the city, there are only a few with rosters that resemble an Oscars’ guest list.

Although cities like New York are gaining reputations in the modern wellness world, Los Angeles will always be regarded as an origin place. Maybe it’s the warm temperatures that inspire its habitants to stay active and healthy, or maybe it’s the population of stars that count looking good as one of their job requirements. Among the multitude of fitness studios across the city, there are only a few with rosters that resemble an Oscars’ guest list. Whether your favorite actors are dancing with Lauren Kleban at LEKfit or pushing cars as part of their regimen (ex. Brie Larson with her trainer Jason Walsh), the variety of celeb-frequented studios is wide. Below, a set of star-approved Los Angeles spots.

LEKfit

Lauren Kleban's fitness classes are a favorite of Emmy Rossum, Busy Phillips, and Rooney Mara. While the format of the class stays the same, the content is ever-changing, keeping clients (and their bodies) on their toes. Trampolines and those dreaded ankle weights are used during the full body workout, which is meant to strengthen and tone.

Body by Simone

On any given day in Los Angeles, celebs like Chrissy Teigen and Rosie Huntington-Whitely can be found dancing at Body by Simone. Founded in New York by Simone de la Rue, the brand now has two California studios in West Hollywood and Brentwood. Five signature classes are on offer, ranging from an arms, back, and core-focused workout to a high intensity dance cardio session (we're talking 40 minutes, nonstop).

Erika Bloom Pilates

To stay red carpet-ready, stars like Kerry Washington turn to Erika Bloom and her eponymous studio, which boasts six locations worldwide. Besides pilates, the Brentwood studio offers acupuncture, yoga, and holistic health counseling, all with views of the Pacific from their 10th floor studio. What more could you ask for while planking?

Rise Movement / Rise Nation

Jason Walsh, a personal trainer and founder of Rise Movement, trains Irina Shayk, Emma Stone, and Brie Larsen using both traditional and unexpected gym equipment. He also started Rise Nation, a West Hollywood studio that offers his signature 30-minute climbing class taken on the VersaClimber. In just half an hour, students can expect to burn fat and strengthen their arms, back, and legs.

Alo Yoga

Besides making some of the softest yoga pants around, Alo Yoga also offers classes for expert yogis and beginners alike. Three out of four of the Los Angeles locations have studios, where you can find stars such as Claire Danes and Jamie Chung getting into their flow. Noah Centineo, of To All the Boys I've Loved Before, and newly engaged Katherine Schwarzenegger have also been spotted in class.

Shape House

Although this method is quite the opposite of a workout studio, celebrities like Selena Gomez and Demi Moore have flocked to Shape House’s five Los Angeles locations to sweat it out. The "urban sweat lodge" promises to improve cardiovascular fitness, quality of sleep, and clarity of skin. Shape House says that spending 55 minutes in their heated beds can also boost your mood and immunity.
