5th annual Flower and Food Festival returns to Dollywood

PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. (WFXR) —  Dollywood Theme Park in Pigeon Forge, Tenn. is bringing the sights and sounds of spring through its fifth annual Flower and Food Festival.

During the Flower and Food Festival, Dollywood blooms bright with spectacular color as over 500,000 flowers cover the theme park in beautiful displays and mosaics. These mosaics range from parts of Dolly’s life to animals found in the Smokey Mountains such as bears, raccoons, turtles, and a beautiful peacock.

“The biggest one is Dolly’s mom making the iconic coat of many colors,” said Ellen Liston with Dollywood. “All made of plants and flowers, it is just absolutely beautiful.”

Dollywood Park promises new experiences for fans in 2024 season

Along with the beautiful floral designs, the specialty foods made during the festival are some of parkgoers’ favorites. Having to do with spring, the culinary team has created a lot of honey-based foods, according to Liston.

Liston says some of her favorites include the Honey Barbeque Ribs and the funnel cake of the season which is a Berry Lavender Funnel Cake with Lavender flowers.

“Our culinary team has really outdone themselves,” said Liston. “What they really tried to do, especially this year’s, for every festival bringing totally different ideas to go along with the season and what’s going on.”

The Flower and Food festival goes until mid-June.
