Any day Paulina Porizkova calls out anti-aging culture is a good day. Lucky for us, the 58-year-old constantly embraces aging—both in the real world and online. From posting no-makeup selfies to opening up about going topless to discuss shame and power, she regularly shares her takes with fans. And her latest Instagram post does not disappoint; the star discussed the “pro-aging” movement, wrinkles, and so much more.

“Looking back at some of my work in 2023…certainly the year of the most covers I’ve had since my active modeling days way back in BC. 😉,” Porizkova joked in the caption. The post compiled several magazine covers (from Elle to Vogue to Vanity Fair), with the supermodel looking radiant in each.

The 58-year-old opened up about the shame she felt earlier in her modeling career compared to how she feels now as a “mature” woman.

“I had never taken pride in my accomplishments as a model. (When I called my father at 15 to tell him I was getting a shot at modeling in Paris—he said ‘Oh, so now you’re gonna be a dumbass…’),” Porizkova wrote in the caption. “I was always slightly ashamed that this is how others would see me as a model—a dumb, pretty object. At the same time, it was the world’s most amazing opportunity. Getting a ton of money for nothing but youth and looks.”

The supermodel went on to explain how her point of view pivoted with time. “All this to say: Modeling means something entirely different to me now. When I was young, I was a blank canvas rented out so I could build the life I thought I wanted,” she continued. “Today, I am a fully formed woman. When I model, I’m honored.”

With time comes signs of aging, of which she has a unique view. “My wrinkles are not flaws that need to be hidden or fixed—instead—it’s a representation of a different kind of beauty. I get so happy when I see other mature women beautifully portrayed in media. It inspires me to keep working on my own acceptance of who I am, and in turn, try to inspire you.”

Porizkova wrapped up the post by thanking fans who continue to stick by her. “Thank you all who support the pro-aging movement: designers, makeup companies, magazines—but most of all—the consumers, you seasoned women out there,” she wrote. “Don’t forget. You’re the ones steering this ship.”

Fans loved Porizkova’s candid post. “Thanks to you, Paulina! You’re our source of inspiration!” one fan wrote. “Older women need role models too and to see examples of women aging naturally and beautifully. Bravo! 👏👏” another added.

We love that Porizkova continues to embrace aging and commits to inspiring women along the way. We can’t wait to see what’s next for the star!
