LISA AZCONA: Oh, thank god. You've probably had to deal with pesky flyways, the kind that, no matter how much you comb them down, they just won't go flat. Well, today, I have five unexpected hacks that will help you tame that staticky hair.

What's up, guys. It's your girl Lisa Azcona from In the Know by Yahoo, and this is "Pretty Beautiful."

The first hack involves a household item that you probably use often. You guessed it. It's aluminum foil. Go ahead and slide aluminum foil down your hair, and that should reduce the amount of flyaways that you see. This is also the perfect trick for people who don't want to add any extra product to their hair.

As you can see, the aluminum foil works for more than just your roots. You can also use it along your hair, too. And voila-- just like that. [LAUGHS]

The next hack is a bit silly, honestly, but all you need is a dryer sheet and a brush. Once you see some of those bristles poking through the dryer sheet, just go ahead and comb your hair as you normally would. If you need to, feel free to stretch the dryer sheets so that the bristles can poke through it. Oop. Don't rip it. LOL.

This is what your brush should look like. I picked a dryer sheet that is fragrance free and is made for sensitive skin. That really works. Do you see it? [CHUCKLES] Look at my hair now-- no frizz, no flyaways. It looks like I just got a blowout.

The third hack involves a toothbrush and hairspray. The toothbrush is actually a great tool to comb through your hair, and it'll help you evenly distribute the hairspray so you don't have to load on so much product onto your roots. This is a very easy hack because everyone has a toothbrush and hairspray at home, so you can really do this in times of need.

I like that the toothbrush really helps maintain those flyaways right at the front of my hair. And it really works like a mini comb, too. There's no flyaways on my head anymore. Look at this. It added a bit of shine to my hair. I feel like I can just step out the door, and I'm ready to go. Woop. [LAUGHS]

You can actually use a fine-tooth comb for this instead of a toothbrush. I've actually seen stylists backstage at New York Fashion Week use this hack. My hair is slaying. Look at that shine. And it's frizz free, too. Amazing.

- Yeah, like, really hard.

LISA AZCONA: Oh. Watch it pop.

So the next hack is one that might not immediately come to mind. You can actually run a thin layer of clear mascara on your hair and really put those flyaways to rest. Here, you just really want to make sure you remove any of the excess product. The liquid formula works great, and the bristles work as a comb, too.

I find that this tool works best for the roots of your hair instead of the rest of your hair, like some of the hacks we've seen before. So as you can see, I'm holding my hair down a bit, so I can really polish those flyaways. Yes, girl.

Lastly, you can actually use the tiniest amount of Vaseline to lay your hair flat. But be careful. Don't use too much. It's a little heavy in consistency, and it can ruin your fresh blowout and make your hair look a little oily.

You can also use a wax stick like this one. This one is from the brand Bed Head. Use your fingers like the Vaseline, and apply it onto your hair. Also, you may recognize this wax stick. It blew up on TikTok.

There you go. That looks great. Keep in mind that you may not see the same results on all hair types and textures and that there's absolutely nothing wrong with flyaways or frizz. If you choose to let your hair roam free in all its glory, that's pretty beautiful, too.

Thank you so much for watching, and I hope to see you guys again next time. Whoa! [LAUGHS] Good as new. [LAUGHS]
