5 things to do this week: Cinco de Mayo, Fleetwood Mac tribute, adult prom and more

Northwood Maker's Market

Join fellow crafting, baking and creative enthusiasts from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Northwood's new Maker's Market. The opening event will have a variety of baked goods and crafts along with farmers market staples from local sources. The Maker's Market will be on Second Avenue South in Northwood.

Running in the Shadows — A Tribute to Fleetwood Mac concert

The band Running in the Shadows will perform their concert, A Tribute to Fleetwood Mac, at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Marion Ross Performing Arts Center. The band is described as "an excellent group of professional musicians that have perfected the Fleetwood Mac sound and vibe," according to the Albert Lea Community Theatre website. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased online, by phone or at the box office.

Cinco de Mayo celebration

Celebrate Cinco de Mayo from noon to 8 p.m. Friday in the North Broadway parking lot in Albert Lea. The community celebration will have food and drinks, kids activities, a craft market, Mexican bingo and live music with Los Rebeldes and DJ Charly.

Geneva Market

The city of Geneva will host its annual Geneva Market from 10 a.m. Saturday to 4 p.m. Sunday at 704 Washington St. There will be a variety of homemade goods for sale including jewelry, candles, home decor, plants and more. There will also be local food and drink trucks and entertainment. Funds raised during the event will go toward supporting community projects and organizations.

Adult Prom Night

The VFW Post 1778 in Wells is bringing prom to those out of high school at 7 p.m. Saturday. There will be dinner and dancing as well as prizes. The theme of the event is "A Night in Cancun." Tickets are $25 per person and include dinner and two drink tickets. Those who purchase tickets in advance will receive an extra raffle ticket for prizes.
