Prince Harry has just followed up that major Oprah interview with another revealing dialogue.

The Duke of Sussex made an appearance on Dax Shepard's Armchair Expert podcast, where he discussed a variety of personal subjects, ranging from his mental health to his time in the military service. Here are the five most shocking things we learned from the interview.

1. Meghan Markle Convinced Prince Harry to Go to Therapy

On the podcast, Prince Harry said that he had to learn how to be vulnerable, and part of that process involved his wife, Meghan Markle. The Duke of Sussex said, "She could tell right away that I was hurting."

However, after Markle suggested that he start using therapy, the duke found himself in a whole new space. “Once I started doing therapy it was like the bubble was burst,” he said. “I plucked my head out of the sand and gave it a good shake off and I was like, you're in this position of privilege, stop complaining and stop thinking you want something different—make this different—because you can't get out. How are you going to do these things differently, how are you going to make your mum proud and use this platform to really affect change.”

2. Being a Royal Felt Like ‘The Truman Show’ & a Zoo

The Duke of Sussex discussed the privilege he was born into, but also the struggles he faced growing up in the spotlight. When Shepard asked if being a royal felt like starring in the Jim Carrey movie The Truman Show, the duke responded, “Yep. A mix between The Truman Show and being in a zoo.”

He added, “The biggest issue for me was that being born into it you inherit the risk, you inherit the risk that comes with it—you inherit every element of it without choice and because of the way that the U.K. media are, they feel an ownership over you.”

3. Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Had a Secret Supermarket Meet-Up

In the early stages of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's relationship, the two tried to keep their romance hidden from the media. Apparently, they even had a secret meet-up at a supermarket (which sounds like a scene out of The Prince & Me).

The duke said, “The first time that Meghan and I met up for her to come and stay with me, we met up in a supermarket in London, pretending that we didn't know each other, so we were texting each other from the other side of the aisles.” Apparently, Prince Harry was even wearing a baseball cap so that he wouldn't be recognized. (Luckily, those supermarket meetings led to something bigger.)

4. Prince Harry Wanted to Leave His Royal Duties in His 20's

It turns out that Prince Harry was having doubts about his royal position long before he and Meghan Markle resigned from their roles in early 2020.

When Shepard asked about the difficulties of being a royal, Harry said, “It's the job right? Grin and bear it. Get on with it. I was in my early twenties and I was a case of: 'I don't want this job, I don't want to be here, I don't want to be doing this. Look what it did to my mum, how am I ever going to settle down and have a wife and family when I know it's going to happen again?'”

5. There Were Three Times Where Prince Harry Felt Helpless in His Life

In a revealing moment, Prince Harry discussed some of the darkest moments of his life, saying that his achilles heel is "feeling helpless."

The Duke of Sussex said, “[There were] three major times that I felt completely helpless: One when I was a kid in the back of a car with my mum being chased by paparazzi, two was in Afghanistan in an apache helicopter and then the third one was with my wife.”

Wow, we certainly learned a lot from this interview.
