5 NYC neighborhoods among top nightlife spots in US: poll

NEW YORK (PIX11) – Five neighborhoods in New York City are among the best nightlife spots in the United States, according to a poll.

The photobook company Mixbook surveyed 3,000 “self-proclaimed night owls” to determine the top 150 places in the U.S. for nightlife.

SoHo, Manhattan (No. 4), Astoria, Queens (No. 16), Greenwich Village, Manhattan (No. 30), Harlem, Manhattan (No. 63), and Williamsburg, Brooklyn (No. 128) all ranked in the top 150 in the Mixbook poll. New York’s Hudson Valley region ranked No. 24 in the poll.

Additionally, five places in New Jersey ranked among the top 150 nightlife spots, including Asbury Park (No. 19), Downtown Jersey City (No. 48), Hoboken (No. 50), Downtown Morristown (No. 52), and Red Bank (No. 72).

These are the top 10 spots in the U.S. for night owls, according to the Mixbook poll:

  1. Downtown Las Vegas, Las Vegas, Nevada

  2. French Quarter, New Orleans, Louisiana

  3. Kailua-Kona, Big Island, Hawaii

  4. SoHo, Manhattan, New York

  5. Downtown Anchorage, Anchorage, Alaska

  6. Savannah Historic District, Savannah, Georgia

  7. Old Colorado City, Colorado Springs, Colorado

  8. Downtown Nashville, Nashville, Tennessee

  9. Deep Ellum, Dallas, Texas

  10. Waikiki, Honolulu, Hawaii
