From ELLE

Future. HNDRXX. Né Nayvadius DeMun Wilburn. No matter what you call him, you know his music, dubbed "ringtone rap" and heavy-laden with Auto-Tune. He's worked with everyone from The Weeknd to Rihanna, had a very public breakup with Ciara, and his killer sense of style is damn near heroic. We hitched a ride with Reebok and Future on a private jet, and talked music, beaches, and his elephant-like memory.

Future is sitting in the dark. He requested that the lights be turned off in his part of the plane. Rumor has it that he barely slept. The night before I meet him, he performed at London's Village Underground celebrating the launch of Reebok's Zoku Runner. It's surreal to have just seen him on stage, in his element, to now: sunglasses off, legs propped up in a reclining seat (this is a private charter after all), with a blanket draped across him. It's cozy Future. Hygge Future. He's a man of few words, but this is what he had to say to ELLE.com.

How would you define your style, and how does that relate to your image as an artist?

Yes, I'm very versatile. I believe like with Reebok we have something special going on. [It's] a brand that's been around for so long and I wanted to be a part of the authenticity and be able to bring something back to its culture.

You're great at layering jewelry. Do you know when to stop piling it on?

Lately I've been cutting back on more jewelry, keeping it simple*

*Editor's note: At this point he pulls out three heavy chains from under his T-shirt, all of which is studded in diamonds, sparking even in the dark plane. "Simple" is relative.

What was your first "I finally made it" investment piece?

I've bought so much stuff I forget. Plenty of shit. I just buy everything. I'm just blessed, I'm super blessed.

Favorite Rihanna memory?

Just collaborating and making the song "Selfish."

You're known for your insane work ethic. Do you ever turn your brain off?

I always keep it in my mind, in my head, I don't really write anything down. Store it in my memory and wait until I get to the studio. But I come out with different times of the day, it doesn't matter whenever I find time to create or even when I'm not in a creative zone I still just have pointers and notes and take creative notes.

So you have an elephant-like memory. How do you turn off?

I just meditate.

What's your style of meditation?

I just like being on the ocean. Going to the ocean.

Do you have a favorite beach?

Miami.

Really? I've never been there before.

You have to go this year.*

*I make a mental note to do what Future tells me to do, and start googling flights to Florida.
