The $5 Joanna Gaines Decor Idea We'll Be Copying This Weekend

Anybody else nostalgic for the days of Fixer Upper? You know...when the highlight of the week was tagging along on Jo's flea-market treasure hunts with helpers Emmie and Ella in tow? Sigh.

Welp, to assuage some of that heartache, we're revisiting one of Joanna's favorite budget decor tricks: upcycling "junk" into farmhouse-chic accent pieces.

Ever the upcycler, Gaines is always thinking beyond the typical box or basket when it comes to her organizational vessels. On Fixer Upper, we loved seeing her use shipping pallets as wine racks, soda crates as pillow storage, chicken coops for craft supplies, grain pails for umbrella holders, wooden spools for tables, vintage trolleys for plant displays and so on and so forth.

While the days of Fixer Upper are indeed over, we've taken it upon ourselves to keep up Jo's legacy—by hitting up our local junk shop this weekend—and turning some trash into treasure.
