We've made it. Summer. The cooler is full. You've got your outdoor space furnished with a patio set, or you've got a sofa and some lounge chairs, Maybe you're even big ballin with a huge sectional and a fancy smokeless fire pit. No matter how you're kicking back, you're going to want to grill. This much we know for sure. And a charcoal grill can be a bit intimidating or tough to clean—not ideal for any number of situation.

The answer? Gas. Propane! A gas grill, even a little portable gas grill, is going to be the easiest way for you to cook al fresco. It ignites in seconds, the heat is reliable, and the upkeep is so minimal you'll use it to cook weeknight meals. But the catch with gas grills is the insane amount of options. Sizes, powers, attachments: It's a lot to keep track of. So, we put our genius grill-minded brains together to find the absolute best gas grills on the market. Here they are.

3-Burner Gas Grill

For price and performance, this is as good as it gets. For most people, this is going to be plenty of grill space. Though we love a big centerpiece grill, you will probably never need more than the three burners and 420 square inches of cook space that this grill has.

Add to that a durable build, sleek look, and side burner for veggies or sauces and what do you get? One of our favorite grills on the market for well-under $1,000.

Prestige PRO 500

Would you be fine with any of the other grills on this list? Yeah, probably. But if you want to buy one grill that you'll own for the rest of your life. This is it.

You get 900 square inches of grilling space, Napoleon's signature wave grill grates (which keep food from falling through), and six burners for 80,000 BTUs. This model also has a lighted interior, LED backlit color-changing control knobs, and an infrared sear station on the side. To top it all off, there's a rotisserie attachment, so you can do whole chickens or baskets of vegetables.

That, plus the fact that it's actually beautiful and worthy of being an outdoor centerpiece, makes this grill everything you could ever possibly want.

Q1200

We crowned this our favorite portable gas grill, and we're not changing our mind now. It's got enough space to grill for a group, but it's small enough to pack up and take to the campsite or tailgate. There's prep tables on the side, a lid thermometer, and electric ignition. It's everything you want from a gas grill. Plus, the price tag isn't too bad. For a portable grill, this is as good as it gets.

Spirit II E-310

Another great grill that was in contention for Best Overall is Weber's Spirit II E-310. This grill is really similar to the Char-Broil we awarded top spot, but with a few key differences. First, there's slightly more grill space here. And, we prefer the storage space on this grill a bit more, compared to the Char-Broil. The open design makes cleaning less of a hassle.

The place where this grill falls short though is looks. That Char-Broil is nice and sleek, with the propane tank fully enclosed beneath the grill—making it a better patio center piece. And on top of that, there's no sear station on the Weber. It's not much, but it just gave the Char-Broil the edge.

All things considered though, this is a capable grill and pretty much interchangeable with our Best Overall.

American Gourmet Classic

This is for those that just want a barebones gas grill. The American Gourmet Classic offers a sizable 360 square inches of cooking space with swing away warming rack and three reliable stainless steel burners.

That's... about it. Char-Broil doesn't do up it's base model with any fancy attachments or try to oversell you on anything. For just over $200 you get a capable grill that's got enough space to cook for a decent-sized crowd. We had no complaints.
