5 Fall Trends You Can Start Wearing Right This Second

Blame it on the back-to-school buzz or the imminent return of our favorite fall TV shows, but we’re definitely ready for autumn to arrive. Unfortunately, we’ve still got a while before the leaves start changing color and it becomes socially acceptable to eat and drink nothing but pumpkin spice–flavored treats. So in the meantime, we’ll just go ahead and get our fix by incorporating these five fall trends into our outfit rotation right this very second. Here’s how:

Animal Print

Go ahead and go wild (pun intended) with leopard, zebra and tiger prints. While temperatures are still warm, keep things simple with a classic button-up shirt and easy kicks, and let your safari-inspired skirt steal the show.

Pretty Prairie

There will be no shortage of puffy sleeves and billowing frocks this fall, and luckily this is one trend that can easily transform to fit just about any season. For summer’s end we prefer to rock the trend in the form of delicate floral prints on long-sleeve minis. (Bonus: They’ll be easy to layer over opaque tights come November.)

Casual Suiting

You don’t have to be headed to an office to rock a fabulous blazer and matching bottom. Have some fun with this powerful trend and opt for a bold print, a super-casual (or super-fancy) fabric or an unexpected pairing (hello there, suit shorts).

Western Influence

Boot season is approaching fast, and it looks like cowboy boots will be one of the most coveted styles of 2019. A simple brown pair with a shorter shaft pairs just as nicely with breezy summer dresses now as it will with jeans and a blazer down the road.

Grunge Lite

Cargo pants, Dr. Martens–esque footwear and fanny packs are all going strong, but not necessarily when worn all at once. Mix and match low-key versions of the ’90s staples, like baggy pants without the pockets or lace-up booties with sleek thin soles. It’s a modern look that can carry you all the way through the end of the year.
