5 Exciting New Attractions Opening at Disney Parks Around the World (Including Tiana’s Bayou Adventure)

Mickey fans, alert the presses! The Imagineers at the Walt Disney Company have been hard at work making magic happen across the globe. Earlier this month, the Parks and Experiences division announced an impressive lineup of new rides, attractions, hotels and cruise ships set to launch over the next four years (with the first one premiering in just a few days).

On August 31, Disney will kick things off with the opening of the San Fransokyo Square at Disney California Adventure Park in Disneyland Resort. Brought to life by the team behind Big Hero 6, you can expect to meet Baymax and Hiro as you chow down on clam chowder and Yaki udon. Soon after in fall 2023, the highly anticipated Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana will finally open in Walt Disney World’s Epcot Park featuring a self-guided exploration trail that allows guests to play and immerse in the wonderful world of water (with a stunning Te Fiti model at the heart of it all). Disney closes out the year with a November release of the World of Frozen debuting in Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, as well as a Zootopia-themed land appearing in late 2023 at the Shanghai Disney Resort.

The highlight of 2024 is without a doubt the opening of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in both Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World. Since it was first announced in 2020, Disney fans have been patiently waiting for updates on this The Princess and the Frog-themed reimagining of the beloved water ride, Splash Mountain. Though the targeted launch date hasn’t changed, we’re happy to share that it hasn’t been pushed back either (2024 isn’t that far away!). And with the new Tiana’s Place Restaurant opening in Disneyland on September 7, 2023, at least we’ll have plenty of mint juleps and beignets to keep us occupied while we wait.

Finally, 2025 and 2026 bring with them three new Disney cruise ships, including the Disney Treasure (so start saving those vacation days now).
