5 Clear Signs That Indicate a Dog Is Truly Happy

Dogs exhibit specific behaviors when they're happy.

Dogs express happiness and contentment in a variety of ways, both through their body language and their behavior. Some dogs insist on bringing you their favorite toy, some dogs get very excited over being offered their favorite snack, and some dogs wait for hours for their favorite humans to get home.

TikTok account @Buddysmartz posted a video showing five ways you can tell your dog is happy and it's a great way to see if you are on the right track with your canine companion. Watch the following to see how you're adding up.

The video says the five signs include: the dog rolling on its back and exposing its belly to you, a dog initiating contact with humans such as rubbing against you or butting its head against you, getting the zoomies (and the video states researchers say only happy and healthy dogs get the zoomies), sleeping (Because healthy dogs sleep for up to 16 hours a day), and having "soft eyes" - eyes that are relaxed and gentle.

The sweetest comment comes from @Bcawley04 who says, "I’m at work and now I miss my dog. I’m going home early." Awwww. @Pizza pats themselves on the back and comments, "My dog LOVES me!" Lol. @Bigworm3030 is the same and says "Five for five!" @Michellebegood67 replies, "I’m so glad my puppers are happy! It gives me confidence knowing I’m doing a good job with them!"

It's important to remember that every dog is unique, and they may express happiness in different ways. The above are just a good guideline to let you know that if your dog is expressing most of the above, their overall well-being is pretty great. Now give them a treat!
