5 Beauty Tips Meghan Markle Swears By

Whether she’s portraying Rachel on Suits or hanging with Queen Elizabeth at the palace (casual), Meghan Markle never looks anything less than sophisticated. And now that she’s engaged to be married to Prince Harry, Markle can put her own beauty advice to work on her royal appearance. These are the five best tips we’ve gleaned from the actress-turned-almost-royal over the years.

1. It’s All About Simplicity

Markle’s effortless dewy glow is as simple as it seems. Since the 36-year-old wears so much foundation when she’s filming, she swears by her off-duty “five-minute face,” which consists of Yves Saint Laurent’s Touche Éclat mascara, ChapStick and a touch of blush (usually Nars in “Orgasm”).

2. Highlighter Isn’t Just for Your Cheeks

We all have those mornings when no amount of under-eye makeup can conceal our tired eyes, but Markle swears by applying highlighter to the inner corners of hers to combat a less-than-eight-hours look. “This trick is especially good when we are filming at 3 a.m. and I need to look bright-eyed and bushy-tailed,” she has said.

3. Hold On To Your Bounce

Heavy hair? No problem. Markle’s secret weapon for achieving bouncy locks is a little Oribe Dry Texturing Spray followed by a modern-day bend and snap. “When my hair is feeling a little weighted,” she said, “Suanne, my hair artist on set, has me bend forward and she sprays Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray, or nothing at all, and then has me ‘flip back hard’ to give my hair a little extra bounce.”

4. Everyday Items Are Your Friend

Oh, and if you ever find yourself in a flyaway situation, take a page from Markle’s book and douse a toothbrush with hair spray to smooth your hairline and part.

5. And Don’t Forget to Smile

According to Markle, “everyone looks prettier when they smile,” and we couldn’t agree more.
