Problem: I'm a longtime apartment renter who'd prefer not to put any more holes in my walls than absolutely necessary.

Solution: The adhesive-backed Command Picture Ledges are as easy to mount as they are to move around!

There's nothing flashy or even outwardly noticeable about Command's Picture Ledges, and yet, they're one of the most commented-on features of my apartment. "I LOVE your shelves!" guests will say when they take a peek in my bathroom and see the four perpendicular ledges affixed there. I love them too, I'll sigh to myself.

These 21-inch shelves hold the bulk of my beauty and skincare inventory right at eye level. Everything is lined up neatly by category on the shelves (hair goos on one, face potions on another, etc.). It's a far cry from when all of these products were haphazardly piled in the dank undercarriage of my bathroom sink.

And I realize you could hang any type of shelf anywhere to have this same effect. So what makes these shelves so special? Well, as implied with the Command brand name, these shelves affix to any smooth wall with four adhesive strips attached to removable plastic mounting pieces. Instead of a stud finder and a drill, all you really need is a ruler, a pencil, and a level to ensure that your shelves are hung properly.

These shelves do have their limitations — a 5-pound weight limit, to be exact. So while these might be ideal for stowing lighter items like beauty products, wall art, cooking spices, or even a collection of FunkoPOP figures, I wouldn't use these for heavier items.

For my bathroom-storage purposes, these shelves are just right, and if I ever feel like relocating them to a different room in my apartment, the shelves can be unmounted, with their adhesives peeling off the wall in a snap.
