The 4th Annual Beignet Fest Returns to New Orleans This October 5th

It may only be August, but we're already saving room for Beignet Fest in New Orleans this October. The 4th annual celebration will take place on Saturday, October 5th, 2019 in New Orleans' City Park and is bound to be a good time for pastry enthusiasts.

Presented by French Market Coffee, the epicurean extravaganza runs from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. with general admission tickets available for $5 (children 12 and under are free with a paying adult) either in advance online or at the gate. There's also a VIP option for $40 available complete with complimentary coffee and beignets from Café du Monde and a Bulleit Bourbon Cocktail and Abita Beer Happy Hour.

The culinary festival features something sweet and savory for everyone with standouts including Afrodisiac Food Truck (Jerk Chicken Beignet, Jamaican Beef Patty Beignet, Spinach and Artichoke Stuffed Beignet), Diva Dawg (Crawfish Étouffée Beignet Fries, Crown Apple Pie Beignets, Crabmeat Grilled Cheesy), and Girls Gone Vegan (Gluten Free Traditional Beignets, Gluten Free Savory Beignets, Gluten Free Brownies).

We're also particularly excited for Loretta’s Authentic Pralines (Praline Beignet, Chocolate Praline Beignet, Famous Crabmeat Beignet, Burger Beignet, BBQ Chicken Beignet, Peanut Butter and Jelly Beignet) and Old School Eats (see the photo below; Blackberry Cloud Beignets, Bacon Maple “No Brainer” Beignets, Beignet Churro Sticks).

To chase all those beignets and brews down, there will also be live local musical acts performing the entire day, including Imagination Movers, RumpelSTEELskin, Honey Island Swamp Band, Hot 8 Brass Band, and Big Sam’s Funky Nation.

The tantalizing jamboree is hosted by and benefits the Tres Doux Foundation, a nonprofit which provides grants to local autism programs. The Tres Doux Foundation was created by Sherwood Collins and his wife, Amy Collins, inspired by their son, Liam, who is on the autism spectrum. Currently, they've made more than $60,000 in grants to local nonprofits including YMCA of Greater New Orleans, Audubon Zoo Camp, Autism Society of New Orleans, Ochsner Hospital for Children’s Michael R. Boh Early Childhood Center and more. All of this, of course, makes a sweet cause even sweeter.
