  • Eva Longoria, 45, shared a new gym selfie to Instagram, showing off her strong abs.

  • The actress was working out with a 5-pound kettlebell, but her go-to workouts include yoga, strength training, cardio, and swimming.

  • She’s also been getting her cardio in by playing in the pool with her son.

At 45, Eva Longoria is clearly feeling fitter than ever in her latest Instagram. On Tuesday, the actress shared a gym selfie, in which she proudly gave us a peek at her sculpted abs.

In the pic, Longoria rocks an olive green athliesure set from Girlfriend Collective (a company that creates workout clothes from recycled plastics). She paired her yoga set with Adidas Solarboost 3 sneakers.

“Idk what’s cuter, this outfit or this tiny 5-lb. kettlebell?” she captioned the post. (Many people commented that it was Longoria herself who made the photo so cute, and we have to agree!)

Longoria’s workout of choice clearly involved some kettlebell moves in this photo, but if you keep up with the actress on Instagram, then you know she stays pretty active by switching up her exercises. She likes to sweat it out in all kinds of ways, including yoga, indoor cycling, and Pilates, but it wasn’t until after she had her son Santiago in 2018 that she started to lift weights.

“I still love yoga,” she told Us Weekly in 2018. “My workouts now are more weight training. Very serious weight training.” Judging by her Instagram in January, it looks like Longoria has kept up with the strength work. In the post, she flexed her toned biceps beside a rack of dumbbells. (She looks so strong!)

Longoria has been especially prioritizing her fitness and well-being due to the pandemic, she said in a recent interview with Parade. “I’m working out a lot, and I’m meditating a lot, and reading a lot, so I’ve been really doing the things that I never had time to do consistently,” she said. “Like I would work out and then I would read a book here and there and put it down, but now it’s like being able to consistently do it, to have the time to do it has been a gift.”

She’s also been getting her cardio in by playing in the pool with her son. “Every day is a different day, but swimming is the big one now. He knows how to swim so we’ve been swimming daily,” she said of Santiago.

If you wanted to take a page out of Longoria’s book, just know that you can burn up to 367 calories while swimming freestyle. There’s some motivation to get started!
