43 Truly Wild Things You Forgot Happened on '16 and Pregnant'

16 and Pregnant was (well, actually *is* since it had a reboot just last year!) a truly wild show—especially if you were one of the people who watched it while you were 16 and, ya know, actively afraid of becoming pregnant. In case you've blocked out this entire period of your MTV watching days, each season of this sometimes-controversial reality series followed a group of teenagers who had literally just found out they were pregnant (then immediately called MTV, as one does), all the way from the early months of their baby bump, to their delivery, to the first weeks with their newborn. Oh, and did I mention the show contributed to lowering pregnancy rates across the country?

As star Maci Bookout told Cosmopolitan back in 2013, "Over the past three years, the teen pregnancy rate has remained lower than it has been in decades. I don't think that's a coincidence. If I had been 16 and on my couch, watching a show like that, it would have made a difference in how I thought about birth control."

So yeah, 16 and Pregnant was equal parts heartbreaking, educational, and eye-opening. But the series was also completely iconic and had some majorly memorable moments. Like, where else were you gonna watch someone go into labor on the back of an ATV, you know?
