This $43 Million Mansion Aims to Shatter Sales Records on Miami Beach’s Palm Island
A chalk-white waterfront mansion in Miami Beach, an assemblage of rectilinear volumes with vast walls of green-tinted glass, has come to market for $43 million, and if it gets anywhere near its asking price, it will shatter the standing record for the most expensive home on ritzy Palm Island. The current record was set earlier this year when hedge funder Ron Ozer plunked down $32 million for a spec-built mansion that was originally priced at almost $40 million.
One of the larger of the small, pill-shaped man-made islands that dot Biscayne Bay, Palm Island has fewer than 140 homes—most of them waterfront—and is accessible only by boat or by a single causeway off the MacArthur Causeway that connects South Beach to downtown Miami.

Listed with Lourdes Alatriste of Douglas Elliman, the 13,000-square-foot home’s nine bedrooms and 8.5 bathrooms include a two-room staff suite and a spacious second-floor primary suite with water views and an all-white marble bathroom with a deep soaking tub and an oversized multi-head shower.
A bridge that connects the two wings of the upper floor passes through the double-height foyer and adjoining living room. Walls of glass allow for an easy transition to the backyard, and a towering buff-colored stacked stone wall divides the living and dining areas. The kitchen is sleek with premium appliances and a walk-in fridge, while the neighboring family room spills out to the yard thanks to walls of sliding glass doors.
Other notable features and creature comforts include an elevator, a movie theater, a wine cellar, and a room just for the resident fur babies.
Covered patios, including a large area between the family room and a glass-walled poolside pavilion that houses a gym, provide respite from south Florida’s omnipresent sunshine, while the swimming pool and spa are lined with mosaic tiles in a multitude of blue colors. And, with 100 feet of water frontage, boat lovers will appreciate the private dock for easy-breezy access to Biscayne Bay and beyond.
Palm Island, a lush haven just moments from all the razzle-dazzle of Miami and South Beach, is perhaps best known as the former home of infamous Chicago gangster Al Capone, who in 1928 paid $40,000 for a home at 93 Palm Avenue that was originally built in 1922 for beer magnate Clarence Busch. The house was acquired in 2021 for almost $11 million by investor and property developer Todd Michael Glaser, who just this month razed the vintage residence to make way for something that will no doubt be much bigger and far grander.
