$4 to see any movie in the theater: Here’s how to do it Sunday in Fort Myers, Naples

Still haven’t watched “Barbie,” “Oppenheimer” or “The Blue Beetle”? Then this is the weekend to do it if you want super-cheap tickets.

This Sunday, theaters across the country will celebrate National Cinema Day with deeply discounted tickets: $4 for all movies, all day. That includes every showtime and format (even large-format screens such as IMAX).

That’s up to four times cheaper than some theater tickets in Southwest Florida ― which can cost $8-$16, depending on the theater, time of day and type of screen.

Last year’s inaugural event drew more than 8.1 million people to theaters Sept. 3 and turned that Saturday into the highest-attended day of the year, according to a news release from theater chain Regal.

This year, tickets cost $1 more. And the event has moved from Saturday to Sunday.

All Regal and AMC theaters are taking part in the national event on Sunday, Aug. 27. They’re even offering special discounted concession combos (a small popcorn and fountain drink) for $4 at Regal and $5 at AMC.
