From Good Housekeeping

The third episode of Roseanne aired tonight, and just when we thought we'd noticed all the little ways the show has changed in the past 20 years, we added a bunch more to the list.

What's with the blue paper towels?

We noticed the blue paper towels in the first episode, but let's face it, there was so much going on it was hard to concentrate. After thinking about it for a while, we discovered the possible meaning behind this unconventional choice. While most people use white paper towels, the Conners use blue. To be fair, Rosie started using blue paper towels in the last few seasons of the original show. But, FYI, blue paper towel is typically found in garages, auto-repair shops, and construction zones because it tends to be super strong and can absorb liquid, oil, and grease. The Conners use of this is likely a nod to the fact that Dan needed these types of towels for his hobbies (and his old businesses) and Roseanne doesn't see the sense in using something different in the kitchen.

Let's talk about those family photos.

Particularly the fact that there are none of Jerry, Roseanne and Dan's fourth child who has taken to the sea. There are a ton of photos of their other three kids and now their grandkids, and Roseanne's mom even makes a cameo in a photo, but no Jerry. Unless this is supposed to be him???

What are those little pink signs around the house?

Okay, so we've noticed two little pink notes so far: one by the light switch in the kitchen and one by the light switch in the hallway near Dan and Roseanne's bedroom. From what we can make out, the sign in the kitchen is a reminder to turn off the light. We're not sure if the other one says anything.

Whose room is Darlene in?

So Harris and Mark are in her and Becky's old room, which hasn't changed much. And considering the little trucks on the wallpaper, we think it's safe to assume Darlene is in DJ's old room? Or Jerry's old room? Or ... no, it has to be either one of those, which suggests neither one of them has plans to move back home ... maybe.
