$4.3M in Fake Shoes Including Counterfeit Dior x Air Jordan 1s Seized in Texas
More than $4.3 million in counterfeit in sneakers, which included fake Dior x Air Jordan 1s, have been seized in Texas, U.S. Customs and Border Protection confirmed Monday.
According to the agency, a shipment containing counterfeit sneakers that was heading to Mexico was found by officers working at the Dallas/Fort Worth port of entry. It included more than 1,800 pairs of fake Dior x Air Jordan 1 shoes, and the value of the entire shipment of counterfeit footwear eclipsed $4.3 million.

The sneakers, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection, were found in a shipment of 60 boxes from Hong Kong listed as “Ball Golf” on the manifest. The inspection revealed several pairs of shoes with the registered trademarks of Nike and Adidas, which were deemed counterfeit by the officers based on “the poor quality of workmanship, incorrect packaging and previous experience with similar products.”
“Counterfeiters trafficking in phony merchandise are not concerned about the American consumer or the damage their fake goods can do to our economy,” CBP port director Timothy Lemaux said in a statement. “CBP will continue to take every opportunity to intercept illegitimate goods and disrupt transnational criminal enterprises seeking to fund criminal activities with counterfeit or pirated merchandise.”
The Dior x Air Jordan 1 collaboration, after months of delays due to the coronavirus crisis, eventually released via a special website on June 25. (The collab was initially set to hit retail in April.) As expected, the shoes — which came in both high- and low-top iterations — sold out almost instantly with sizes appearing on the resale market for tens of thousands of dollars.
On GOAT, for instance, the lowest asking price at time of publication for the Dior x Air Jordan 1 High shoe is $10,480 for a men’s size 10 and the highest asking price is $25,000 for a men’s size 12.5. And on StockX, the shoe has a low bid of $8,500 for a men’s size 13.5 and a high bid of $15,000 for a men’s size 16.
As for the Dior x Air Jordan 1 Low, prices on GOAT start at $7,741 for a men’s size 8 with a high of $21,999 for a men’s size 14. Bids on StockX range from $4,800 for a men’s 14.5 and 16 to $10,000 for a men’s size 14.
