With the midterm election results still unfolding across the country, the alarming affects of the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade in June are still very much being felt today. As we wait to see if Congress is able to ultimately codify abortion, a number of top beauty brands are taking matters into their own hands with the launch of The Every Body Campaign.

Announced at the end of last month and powered by Saie founder and CEO Laney Crowell, The Every Body Campaign joins more than 35 beloved beauty and wellness brands together—including Saie, The Outset, Glow Recipe, The Nue Co., Keys Soulcare, and more—in partnership with theAtlanta, Georgia-based non-profit The SisterSong Women of Color Reproductive Justice Collective. Founded in 1997, SisterSong aims to foster a network of multi-ethnic individuals and organizations to improve reproductive institutional policies impacting marginalized communities.

"I’ve never seen people organize and galvanize the way we are right now for reproductive justice," Crowell tells BAZAAR.com. "Yet despite all of the positive attention and support—with 80 percent of Americans agreeing that women should have control over their own bodies—the fight for bodily autonomy has proven to be a lifelong battle that transcends generations. We are going to continue the work regardless of any outcomes to ensure we are always moving in the right direction."

The Every Body Campaign earned its name through the acknowledgement that the loss of reproductive freedoms in our nation affects every body, everywhere, with its products immediately recognizable to consumers by their vibrant green packaging. The campaign's signature green shade is inspired by the green bandanas and smoke seen during ongoing reproductive justice demonstrations.

While a number of states like Vermont and California are protecting abortion rights by enshrining them into their constitutions, SisterSong executive director Monica Simpson says there are still a number of women in need of additional support.

“Women of color in states with restrictive abortion laws often are battling multiple layers of oppression that impact their ability to to access healthcare and make decisions about their own bodies,” Simpson says in a statement. “The Every Body Campaign is catapulting big-beauty to the forefront of the fight for reproductive justice by turning their platforms into battlegrounds that will give consumers a unique pathway to organize against anti-abortion laws. SisterSong is dedicated to protecting our human right to bodily autonomy, and the donations raised from this campaign has the power to change the lives of thousands."

The Every Body Campaign is currently the largest beauty industry-backed reproductive rights initiative to date, with proceeds from each participating brand directly benefitting The SisterSong Women of Color Reproductive Justice Collective, while supplies are still in stock.
