As I'm sure is true for many of us, my lounge- and sleep-wear wardrobe has expanded quite a bit since the pandemic, and while I love a classic matching pajama set, I've developed something of an obsession with nightgowns.

Despite being one of the earliest forms of sleepwear (for both men and women), the nightgown has gone under-appreciated for many years. To me, there's something romantic and almost cinematic about them. They recall iconic moments in film and television, from Grace Kelly in "Rear Window," Sharon Tate in "Valley of the Dolls" and Audrey Hepburn in "My Fair Lady" to the Lisbon sisters in "Virgin Suicides" and the ladies of "Sex and the City."
