Bring a reusable cup to your favorite coffee shop!
April 22nd, 2020 officially marks 50 years of celebrating Earth Day, and there are so many simple, green changes you can make at home in honor of the holiday. The easy, eco-friendly lifestyle changes on our list will help guide you: little yet important things like reusing the items you already have, purchasing new products that don't come in excess packaging, and reducing your daily water and energy consumption.
One way to be smart shopper is to keep your eyes out for products with the Green Good Housekeeping Seal, or winners of our most recent Good Housekeeping Sustainable Packaging Awards. As Anne Marie Bonneau of Zero-Waste Chef once said, “We don't need a handful of people doing zero waste perfectly. We need millions of people doing it imperfectly.” Here are some tips to help you kick off your sustainable-living journey. Earth Day comes once a year, but these lifestyle changes could be beneficial for the other 364 days, as well as years to come! We only have one (Mother) Earth, so let's treat her right.
Charlie: “Donald Trump admitted on Monday that making it easier to vote in America would hurt the Republican Party…..The president made the comments as he dismissed a Democratic-led push for reforms such as vote-by-mail, same-day registration and early voting as states seek to safely run elections amid the Covid-19 pandemic…..Democrats often accuse Republicans of deliberately making it hard to vote in order to keep minorities, immigrants, young people and other groups from the polls. And Republicans often say they oppose voting reforms because of concerns of voter fraud – which is extremely rare – or concerns over having the federal government run elections. But Trump’s remarks reveal how at least some Republicans have long understood voting barriers to be a necessary part of their political self-preservation…..“I don’t want everybody to vote,” Paul Weyrich, an influential conservative activist, said in 1980. “As a matter of fact, our leverage in the elections quite candidly goes up as the voting populace goes down.”…..I’ve LONG said that the ONLY WAY Republicans win elections these day’s…. Is by SUPRESSING THE VOTE.
