This fleece number ticks nearly all of Motley-Maddox's boxes: It's super long, hitting near the mid-calf, it's got texture in the form of its fleece lining and you can choose from a whole slew of colors. More than that, however, you'll basically be getting two coats for the price of one, since it's fully reversible. There's a hood to protect your head from rain and snow and hand pockets on either side. Reviews suggest that the sleeves are on the shorter side, so this may not be the coat for you if you've got longer arms, however. It's also not ideal for extreme cold, per its reviewers.
2. Tahari Wool-Blend Wrap Coat
Not only is the oversized collar of this coat right in line with this season's trends, it actually doubles as a hood, making for a super unique-yet-functional detail. The filling it on the lighter side, but we actually think that's a plus, since a lot of puffers tend to weigh you down. We also appreciate the oversized hood, which will keep gusts at bay.

Faux fur coats make for another great way to experiment with texture. This one has an an attached hoodie to keep you warm and dry and a just-right fit that shoppers report has enough space for a heavier sweater underneath. It lacks padding, so it won't be as warm as a puffer or parka, but it's a stylish and cozy pick that buyers call "soft and luxurious." The pockets are also on the larger side, so your phone can fit inside of them alongside your hands on a nippy day.

This mid-weight style has a longer cut and a water-resistant exterior to keep you from getting soaked through in a squall. It is also equipped with a two-way zipper that will make sitting down more comfortable.

With a cute plaid inner lining that’s reminiscent of everyone's favorite British brand (ahem, Burberry), this far more affordable trench coat has a drawstring waist to keep things streamlined and a water-repellent finish to keep you dry in a light rain. Keep in mind, however, this coat runs large, so be sure to size down for your perfect fit.
