We tasked three editors with an affinity for beauty to share their thoughts while trying the mascara for the very first time. Check out their honest reviews below, then test the product for yourself—we can’t wait to hear what you think.

The One Who Loved the Length

“I’m not really a mascara person, but when I tried the COVERGIRL Lash Blast Clean Volume Mascara I loved it! After a few brushes through my lashes, I saw them lengthen and appear thicker. Since my lashes are very thin, I appreciate a mascara that adds volume without clumping.

“I would definitely use Lash Blast Clean when my lashes need a break from the mink ones I typically wear.” —Danielle Beckford, Resident Copywriter, Branded Content

TRY IT ($8)

The One Who Loves the Original Lash Blast Mascara

“I've been obsessed with mascara since I started wearing makeup. Rather than completing my look with a bold lip, I always try to make my eyes be the focal point because they're one of my favorite features. My two ride-or-die mascaras are COVERGIRL's Lash Blast Volume (orange tube) and Lash Blast Fusion (purple tube), so I was super excited to test out the new Last Blast Clean Volume mascara. Right off the bat, I loved its mint green packaging and knowing the formula was clean, cruelty-free and vegan. It's also infused with argan and marula oils to condition lashes, which is a nice extra touch.

“One of the things I love about COVERGIRL mascara is the brush itself because it has a special way of perfectly fanning out lashes, so I was happy to see the Lash Blast Clean Volume had the same type. In terms of application, I thought it went on smoothly, but I did notice that the formula was a tiny bit more clumpy than I'd hoped it would be. I was still able to achieve the length I typically go for and I was happy they still had that fanned-out look, but it took more swipes than usual to coat my lashes to my liking. I didn't notice any fallout after a day's wear and the formula washed off without any harsh scrubbing, which is a huge plus for me. Overall, I really liked it and will definitely add it to my COVERGIRL mascara rotation.” —Rachel Gulmi, Managing Editor, Branded Content

The One Who Didn’t Smudge

“At first glance, I really liked the packaging of the mascara. The seafoam green tube is eye catching (though I may be biased since it's my favorite color). I also liked the wand because it's packed with a ton of tiny little bristles, which I prefer for my short, sparse lashes. I'm prone to getting smudges, but haven't experienced much of that with this formula, and despite that it's volumizing, it doesn't feel heavy on my eyes.

“I have very straight lashes that rarely hold a curl so I tend to opt for waterproof or tubing formulas on the rare occasions that I wear mascara. That said, I appreciate that this gave my eyes a subtle hint of definition without smudging.” —Jenny Jin, Beauty Director
