3 Top Shoe Collabs of LFW: Ugg, Ancient Greek Sandals and Converse

London Fashion Week is always a hotbed of creativity and inspired partnerships — and collaborations continued to generate buzz during these unusual times.

Here are three must-see tie-ups from Ugg, Ancient Greek Sandals and Converse. Ugg teamed up with Molly Goddard, Ancient Greek Sandals with Eudon Choi and Converse continued last season’s partnership with Paria/Farzaneh.

Collaborations are at their most successful when the brands in question share similar values and aesthetics and where said brands really work in partnership to create something new rather than simply paying lip service to up their respective cool factors. These three are prime examples of how to get it right.

UGG x Molly Goddard

Hot on the heels of the upcoming partnership with Telfar that Ugg unveiled last week came a new coupling with LFW favorite Molly Goddard. The designer reinterpreted two signature Ugg styles: the Classic Mini boot and the heritage slipper. She transformed the boot into a towering platform silhouette while the slipper got a shaggy makeover — a bit like a Fraggle but in a good way. They came in red, black and a saturated acid green reflecting the vibrant color palette of the main collection.

Eudon Choi is known for his breezy, minimalist tailoring. For his Mediterranean-inflected spring ’21 collection, he partnered with Ancient Greek Sandals. Barely there, blink and you’d miss them styles in black and tan couldn’t have been a better fit.

Converse x Paria/Farzaneh

Designer Paria Farzaneh presented an update on last season’s Converse collaboration, plus a new partnership with Merrell. The British designer, who often draws on her Iranian heritage to inform her street-wear aesthetic, decked out Converse high-tops and rugged Merrell hiking boots with coin embellishments. As with fall ’20, she inserted mesh panels into the sides of the Converse with subtle patterns recalling her her prints. Look out for her fall Converse sneaker dropping towards the end of this year.
